Brookside Elementary School summer 2009
I taught a two-week camp for children entering kindergarten. I designed and implemented daily lessons
targeting specific skills such as fine and gross motor, motor planning, and following directions. I
introduced students to kindergarten routines and expectations, assessed and observed students for
kindergarten readiness, and conferred with parents.

I served as a long-term substitute to in a second grade classroom. I designed and implemented project
based lessons including preparation for a multicultural dance performed for the schools Multicultural Day,
an extensive biography project that included dramatic performance and the study of America and
immigration. I completed the final trimester’s report cards.

Ross Valley School District. My curriculum included phonetic and language-based reading experiences,

I was the lead teacher in a self-contained Waldorf-inspired kindergarten classroom in the San Geronimo
Valley,in Marin County. I led the children in daily lessons that include phonemic awareness, language arts,
science, and social studies. I brought music, art, poetry and drama into our classroom lessons daily.
